Community, a group that shares a common bond.
Collective, representing many individuals, gathered together.
A collective community, gathered together in sharedness, belonging, and a sense of purpose, based on location, interests and
shared experience.
This is what this website aims to support, a sense of common interest and collective community.
There will never be any need to make payment here, I am not looking to generate any income from this work I do here and am privileged to be able to live on a state pension, a small work pension and am no longer in need of any other income.
Thanks for being here.
Guessing that when we use the words community and collective, one way or another we are including this planet, from its molten core, to its rocky crust and all of us who exist here together.
We are all gathered together here, we are all interested in being here, we seem to make efforts that help us survive, interact and reproduce,.
We all belong here and share the resources that grow from the chemistry, biology and mystery that we live and love within.
Thats just my take though, and, as there are around eight billion humans sharing this planet, with another trillion living not human organisms,
then my take needs to be seen within a bigger picture hey?
And often it doesn’t feel like that, as in, I struggle to contemplate one trillion+ living beings all having a conversation, swapping ideas about what we need to do next on this planet, and how that will keep it going and accommodating more life for the foreseeable future.
Just the sense of that much noise, effort and clatter feels way too much to absorb for me.
Yet, somehow, that is what this planet has been doing for at least hundreds of millions of years and more.
Managing to have interactions and collaborations that have used understanding and communications to bring us to
this amazing point in time.
A planet full of collective communities all working together with a shared interest in continuing to use and contribute to the
biggest living community we can see in this universe.
As a representative of this new experimental species here, humans, it seems that once we had spread out and learned how to survive and grow in number, in many different ecosystems, we humans have recently turned towards taking out of the global community, more than we contribute.
And from there, from that understanding, I am keen to promote ideas and feelings based around creating new human communities that no longer take more than we contribute.
The learnings I have picked up along the way, suggests that we would be wise to take with us some of those wisdoms that are most ancient ancestors understood, and, use some of our more recent wisdoms too.
All of this, is my long winded way of introducing this theme of creating communities.
I recently heard a modern word journalist suggest that the modern media seems to prioritise stories that generate fear, anger and outrage, and, unfortunately, it looks that way to me too.
So, do we move towards a new and easier future for our children and grandchildren from a place of fear anger and outrage?
Can we find other, better options?
I believe we can, and, I see that happening among many collectives, within many communities, all around me here in the capital of what may be considered a big player in maintaining this unsustainable and violent status quo.
Please feel free to contact me if there is anything here that catches your attention, if you want to share any examples of communities you are part of, or aware of, that embody the principles of system change via nonviolence and inclusivity, or if you are just into sharing conversations around de-escalating the current violences we notice around and within us.
We are born into community, raised in community and learn together in community, my trust is placed in our collective capacity to create new communities that will become more than the sum of their parts and offer more than they take.
